About us
The Waimea Tool Company is a family-owned business located on the Big Island of Hawaii. We originated as a small ranching family nearly 20 years ago, initially starting with a cow-calf operation spanning 300 acres. Our team comprised of Dad, Mom, and three young boys, who dedicated themselves to the management of 110 cows and 4 bulls.
Despite the challenging nature of ranching, our family persevered. Dad, a full-time firefighter working 24-hour shifts, and Mom a full-time flight attendant, often found themselves juggling between their two roles. This led to long days at the ranch, with the boys pitching in whenever possible.
One of the biggest challenges we faced was maintaining the integrity of our barbed wire fencing. As any rancher knows, fencing is paramount, especially when it comes to perimeter fence lines. A breach in the fence could have dire consequences, posing risks to both humans and livestock.
Driven by the need for efficiency and safety, Dad embarked on years of research and experimentation to develop innovative solutions for fence repair. After numerous iterations, the Fence Splicer and Shark Vise Grip Covers were born.
These Made in the USA tools revolutionized the process of repairing barbed wire fencing. They not only enhanced safety by minimizing contact with sharp barbs but also expedited the repair process. The leverage provided by the long nose vise grip, combined with the Fence Splicer, made quick work of any type of barbed wire, including 14 gauge hi-tensile wire.
Moreover, our tools simplified the process of creating the Western Union Splice, eliminating the need for additional fittings or consumable items. By streamlining fence repair, we aimed to provide ranchers with a reliable and efficient solution to safeguard their livelihoods.
At the Waimea Tool Company, we are committed to innovation and excellence, driven by our firsthand experience in ranching. Our mission is to empower fellow ranchers with tools that not only improve efficiency but also enhance safety and reliability in their daily operations.
